Every year in Ontario, over
16,000 workers between the ages of 15 and 24 years are injured in workplace
accidents.
The Young Worker Awareness Program
(YWAP) gives students crucial information to ensure their health and safety
on the job. Free to Ontario schools, the YWAP combines a general
assembly with a half day of classroom instruction delivered by a trained
IAPA Volunteer. In 2000, almost 40,000 Ontario students took part.
To protect young workers at your school, call 1-800-406-IAPA (4272) for
more information.

"Workplace health and safety is important to us because 60 to
65 per cent of our students in senior grades have part-time jobs.
So, accident prevention is an important part of a total package we present
to students."
Paul Grudzien, High School Principal
