IAPA and CSA are active supporters of each others’ efforts. IAPA works with employers to identify and control workplace hazards, develop and improve health and safety systems and reduce workplace injuries and illnesses. CSA develops standards, codes and information products spanning diverse areas like climate change, infrastructure, electricity and health and safety.

Both organizations have collaborated to develop a series of training programs and conferences using the unique expertise of each to create a dynamic showcase of timely health and safety sessions.

Training and Events

Inspecting and Maintaining Steel Storage Racks - CSA A344.1

Developed jointly by CSA and IAPA, this one-day course focuses on the key elements of inspecting and maintaining steel storage racks as outlined in CSA User Guide A344.1. Participants will have an opportunity to conduct a rack inspection through a comprehensive simulated exercise. Participants will receive the CSA User Guide A344.1 and Standard A344.2 in addition to the CSST document entitled “Prevention Guide, Safety of Pallet Racks”.


Power Press Safeguarding: CSA Z142-10

This one-day course will provide guidance on the safeguarding methodology as presented in updated CSA Standard Z142-10. The standard will assist with determining which safeguarding devices are necessary to safeguard various types of presses including brake, punch and servo presses. The performance requirements for safeguarding devices as well as the training requirements needed for your press operators and die setters will be presented.


Safeguarding of Machinery - CSA standard Z432-04

When enforcing the law, many regulatory bodies recognize the CSA standard Z432-04, Safeguarding of Machinery and recognize compliance as a reasonable standard of care. Our knowledgeable leaders will guide you through the changes to this important standard, discuss legal requirements and work with you to analyze the risk assessment element that is crucial to your effective operation.
