Keynote Speakers

Breakfast Keynote Speaker

Chris Boccinfuso
Ministry of Labour (MOL)

Bill 168: What Does It Mean to You?
Violence and harassment have no place in the workplace. Know your obligations and understand your requirements. Chris Boccinfuso will highlight the impact that Bill 168 has on your workplace. Following this keynote, there will be an interactive session with the MOL and Regional Police Services.

Breakfast Keynote Speaker

Johanna Fisher
Threads of Life

The View from Here: From Tragedy to Prevention
Can you imagine what it must be like to be faced with a sudden workplace tragedy? Johanna Fisher couldn’t either until it happened to her. In this riveting session, she’ll let you walk in her footsteps as she gives her personal account of what it’s like to be faced with just such a situation. Johanna is a family member of Threads of Life – a workplace tragedy support association which helps families affected by a workplace fatality, life-altering injury or occupational disease along their journey of healing.

Lunch Keynote Speaker

Deborah Kimmett
Award-winning Comedian and Publisher

The View from the Bottom: One Woman’s Road to Recovery
A candid look at substance abuse in the workplace. For humorist Deborah Kimmett, reality was over rated. At 29 years of age, she had been fired, the dog had died and the boyfriend had gone to the store for milk and hadn’t returned. It was like a country and western song she couldn’t get out of until she found her way up and out of addiction and found that what doesn’t kill you makes you funnier.
