Neutral Conference
Every aim has been made to reduce the carbon footprint, or
human impact, this conference will make on the environment.
Producing an event completely void of a carbon footprint is
extremely difficult, and in order to reach neutral status
IAPA will be offsetting the remaining carbon footprint by
reinvesting in an equal amount of sustainable resources.

Ray Zahab
Challenge. Distance. Discovery.
On November 1, 2006 Zahab and two other runners set out on an epic expedition to cross the Sahara Desert by foot. One hundred and eleven days after leaving the coast of Senegal they made history by dipping their toes into the Red Sea and raising the bar of all that we consider possible. The epic expedition had the trio running an average of 70 km’s a day, without a single day of rest.
Having his dream become reality, Zahab has become a unique voice of inspiration and motivation. He has pushed the limits of endurance beyond what has ever been done before. The documentary film about the expedition, Running The Sahara, will be released in an effort to raise awareness of the water crisis in Africa.
Most recently, Ray has been inspired to include the connection between climate change and its negative social impact. In 2009 Zahab will take-on the Arctic region where he will run 750 km from Ward Hunt Island in Nunavut to the North Pole.
