Steam
Whistle Brewing was founded by three colleagues who had previously been
at Upper Canada Brewery before it was bought out by a national brewer.
Their goal was to develop a quality Pilsner beer that would compete
with the best in the world.
Steam Whistle Brewing was conceived and now operates out of historical
John St. Roundhouse, across from Toronto’s Roger’s
Centre, and that previously had functioned as a Canadian Pacific
Rail steam locomotive repair facility when it was built in 1929.
Their focus was on making one beer using only four natural ingredients.
The beer was bottled in unique green glass bottles.
