Moving Into a New Decade of Health and Safety Enforcement
The enforcement activities of the Ministry of Labour have changed over the last decade in response to changes in Ontario’s health and safety environment. The recommendations of the Expert Advisory Panel on Occupational Health and Safety are providing additional impetus for change. Wayne De L’Orme will focus on the strategies and tactics developed by the Ministry to help make workplaces in Ontario the safest in the world.

33-17-69: The San Jose Mine Rescue
On August 22, 2010, the entire world was amazed to learn that 33 miners trapped deep underground at the San Jose Mine in Chile had survived 17 painstaking days on morsels of food and limited water. Hear about the Canadian connection and what has been learned from this incredible rescue. Alex Gryska followed the event from the initial collapse at the mine through to the successful rescue of all 33 miners 69 days later.
