The concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) - of being a good corporate citizen - is not new. However, the definitions and scope of CSR, and the expectations of employers to meet certain obligations and standards of conduct, have expanded greatly.
Today, there is a growing onus on businesses and other organizations to consistently operate in the best interests of their people, their community, and the planet.
Engage, influence and commit - these are the themes that run through IAPA's CSR initiatives. These initiatives don't represent a new strategy but an ongoing effort. This report outlines our CSR principles and priorities, and the status of our actions across three categories:
- People
- Environment
- Community
CSR fits with our focus - health, safety, and wellness - in the broadest sense. Corporate social responsibility is the foundation of who we are and what we do every day.
We hope that our actions will inspire other stakeholders to work towards creating a growing - and enduring - culture of corporate social responsibility.
